I am having sleepless nights thinking about freshman year and almost going into panic attack. I am very much interested in biotechnology and so excited but I am afraid of the social pressures of college. Any tips or advice on how to handle this

I have felt the same things before starting college. It's a huge change, that's for sure, but you're still yourself so that must count for something.

The important thing to keep in mind is to just be yourself and don't cave in every time you feel the cool guys are pressuring you. In my case, I sat in the back of the class for a whole semester and minded my own business. Frankly, I didn't really care what others think of me, I went to college for the degree not to make as many friends as possible :)
